Any information out of Sandy Point would be appreciated. We have a young lady from Sandy Point staying with us in Virginia and she's anxious for news about her home. Thanks.

We have received a satellite call from Patrick Roberts in Sandy Point. He said everyone is okay, there is a lot of devastation. He hopes to contact us again soon and if so, we will pass it along here.

Please post ANY reports from Casuarina and Sandy Point here. We're still not hearing ANYTHING about those areas. If you know anyone near there please inquire if you speak with them.

Thanks so much. Worried about family and friends there.

Judie and Rex Albury of Casuarina Pt returned yesterday afternoon. They stayed on Cherokee during storm with family. Outside of that do not know about damages...they called on a sat phone while in Cherokee and left voice mail that they were ok and heading home.

Charter fights are able to land in Marsh Harbour and the ferry starts in the morning. I don't think regular flight are coming in becaue we don't have phones .

Progress is so sweet.

Just got a cell phone call from Alex and Barbara Bain of Crossing Rocks who were in Sandy Point to check on their sister. Very bad connection, but could make out that:

no one killed nor injured; major flooding in both Crossing Rocks and Sandy Point; structural damage but not devastation in either; tremendous amounts of fallen trees.

Same true for Bahama Palm Shores.

Urgent need for chain saws along with the rest.

UPDATE: At 11:30 this morning (MONDAY) just heard via cell phone from Judie and Rex Albury in Casuarina. They are fine, some minor structural damage to a couple of homes near them, they lost some shingles on their houses.they say it is rough going. They just got into Casuarina yesterday because the road between Cherokee and Casuarina was flooded. Lots and lots of beach erosion. Trying to get to Marsh Harbour for supplies.

Power and phones have been restored in Sandy Point. We have been communicating by phone and instant messenger with the Roberts family in Sandy Point since yesterday. A truck arrived today with some food and water supplies. It seems the damage is not as great as Floyd. Their home suffered shingle damage. It appears that everyone there is safe. Anyone with specific inquiries can contact me and I will try to get word through to Sandy Point.

After a long awaited period, our friends at Casuarina Pt are back on the internet and got their power back last night, 9/10. They are waiting for phone service to be reconnected. All are well, but some houses suffered storm damage and are quickly under repair. Thank the Good Lord.
