Also been a great wallering spot, always will be! Wallering is the fine art of lazzing in and around the crystal clear waters of the Abacos...

in addition to being a verb, "Waller" is also a proper noun

I just try to keep remembering it this way. Here's a shot of our youngest passed out cold at the Sunset Bar & Grill, we named him Bayley after Bakers Bay, we call him Bay.
You can try this link too and check out one of our videos, hopefully it wont crash our server.

Not to be a downer, but it's hard looking at this video, seeing all the boats in the bay, the last few times we've been down it's been deserted, not one boat staying for more than half an hour or just a cruise through.
ANYWAYS - Enjoy the memories

That photo has been my screen saver and Tommy Boy's for a couple of years- send me a PM and I'll email you the high res photo. That water was over 20 feet deep in that shot. We were tied off to Clifhanger and diving off Clifford's bridge- trying to grab sand off the bottom. My son was diving- for me it was more like falling...

The Cap'n Jeff and I stayed 3 weeks+ straight at Baker's Bay. We just kept throwing parties so people would bring us ice and beer from MH. At one party we had 39 dinghies pulled up to the beach bar, karaoke via a portable gas generator run computer and dj Tom from "Becky Thatcher" spinning tunes and leading us in the electric slide on the beach. We even had two 70+ yr. old nuns (the Catholic, not meant for navigation, type) in their bathing suits, in their beach chairs and drinking beer. Unfortunately, the pics are on the boat in the MH boatyard and we're in snowy Colorado, does anybody else have pictures of that night.

Myself and sons (15&16) are intermediate level divers from Florida (Keys, Bonaire). We are considering a 4 night-2 day dive trip the second week in June, 06 to the Abacos. We would like suggestions regarding accomodations, dive shops and dive masters. We have never dove the Bahamas. Or, should we consider Eluthera or San Salvador. Our time in June is limited, but we have 2 weeks at the end of July. Could do several trips.

If you are staying anywhere near Guana Cay I would suggest Troy and Maria at www.diveguana.com (http://www.diveguana.com) I have been out with them a number of times and I always have fun and see alot.

Heart,
I have dove with Dive Abaco out of Marsh Harbor, Troy Aubry at Guana Cay and Brendal. They are all good. I think that some of the best diving in the world is around the outer islands. If possible, I would dive with at least two of these, with Brendal being one of them. I'm not sure if Brendal travels down to the areas around Guana, Scotland or Elbow Cay or the Pelican Cay Preserve. When you do down there ask to go to the Columns and the Cathedral and the Preserve. Don't know if you can make them all, but they are great.

I have experienced diving much of Fowl Cay preserve (Jacques Cousteau called it some of the best shallow reef diving on the planet) with various Dive Shops. Agreed that they are all good. Your selection(s) will depend on your preferred accommodations location & logistics to the various shops (and, of course, the weather – these operators generally won’t take your money or waste your time if the seas are stirred up w/ resulting poor visibility). I would use the shop most convenient. If you’re in Marsh Harbour, use Keith at Dive Abaco, if you’re on Green Turtle see Brendal, if you’re on Guana see Troy Albury, etc. You won’t be disappointed. Accommodation / Dive packages are available.
