We are coming to Treasure Cay for the Christmas holiday and are wondering if someone can advise us whether there is something we simply MUST see and do or if there is something we must avoid. Any suggestions on great restaurants? Any advice is welcome!

You MUST send me a ticket so I can be your personal guide. You only have to pay for room & boardhttp://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Just kidding, But
You Must relax, enjoy your family and the Holidays
Take in the beauty of Abaco and the Abaconians especially Treasure Cay Beach
Rent a golf cart and "tour" Treasure ... be especially careful of spilled drinks on the cart.
Spend an afternoon at the CocoBar, sit at the bar, have lunch. Just talk to the Bahamians and get to know them.
Have a Pina Volada, I mean Pina Colada made by Viola at the CocoBar.
Sit at the marina pool by the Tipsy and watch the comings and goings especially at sunrise and/or sunset.
Dance to "Chris the Burner" on Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday night.
Go to pizza night on Thursday at the Tipsy.
If you dive, go out with Brent at Treasure Divers (he can also take you snorkeling)
Take in the sunrise at the point.
Take in the sunset at the point around so you are standing to the west.
Take your digital camera and post pics of everything daily if possiblehttp://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Lets us know what dates you will be there and whether you have rented a boat and we Board Members will be happy to plan your daily activities.

P.S. take bug spray ... the sand fleas were out recently one night when I was trying to capture the moon rising. The sacrifices I make for pics!
Book your next trip before you leave Abaco and keep that big smile on your face from being in paradise all the way home. Everyone will wonder what's up with you!

I keep thinking of things http://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif Get a Dodge's Cruising Guide even if you aren't boating. You'll find it under books on the yellow sidebar Abaco Books (http://abacomessageboard.com/books.html) . That way when you are sitting on Treasure Cay Beach looking to the north you will know what islands you are looking at. From the point at the northeast end of the island you can see starting from the west to the east, Whale Cay, Don't Rock in the foreground, Guana Cay, and Abaco mainland towards Marsh Harbor. At night you can see all the lights and in between Guana and the mainland you might see the light from the lighthouse on Hopetown.
If you are sitting at the beach just beyond the Coco Bar from the west to east again, Carlton Point on Treasure, Green Turtle, No Name Cay and Whale Cay with Sand Bank Cays in the foreground.

Here's a thread with a post by Mermaid on how No Name got its' "No Name" Does anyone know where this is? (http://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4862&highlight=turtle)

Here's a thread with older pics of Treasure: Talk about changes . . . . . (http://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5029&highlight=Treasure)

Do more searches (above) on Dis Board for great info!

Abacomah, you are killing me! I feel like I am there and than realize I am sitting at my computer! Ouch! What a great great place. I hope it remains that way for a longggg time. Patricia Ann our first visit I was walking about 2 feet off the ground for about 2 weeks like they say with that smile on. You will love it there. The first time I saw TC beach, I cried it was so beautiful. I also like Viola's frozen Bahama Mamas. Try one! And if they are still having Western night, make sure you go. It is great.

I am envious of your upcoming first trip. I love it more each time, more in fact than any other place we have been. However, the first trip is extra special because of all of the "firsts" that you experience. Boating the Sea of Abaco, unspoiled stretches of beach, fun places to eat with no makeup or dressing-up worries, absolute quiet is easy to find, no grind of rush hour/crowded shops or cruise ships, and the list goes on. Wherever you stay, whichever of the experiences make it onto your list, your trip will be fanatstic. Have a wonderful visit!!!!

It is usually on Tuesday nights at Coco Beach Bar. The theme is western attire by the employees. Chris the Burner is there. They have a great buffet, with steak, chicken, grouper or hamburgers. This past year they did not start until the end of February I guess because it was so cool and not enough of a crowd. Then around 8pm they have a bonfire. A fun night for all. I guess you would need to ask Viola or the fellow that manages (Prince???)
