Does anyone have the waypoints for Don't Rock crossing to Green Turtle both ends.How exact do you need? Thought I would go to my handy dandy "The Cruising Guide to Abaco" by Steve Dodge and get that for you. Wasn't there. I then went to my chart kit for the Bahamas and thought I would get it there. Not there... so for you, I got my ruler out. I think I did this right. And it's only close and done by a novice with a ruler.

Don't Rock is about N26 41.18 W77 14.8
GTC around New Plymouth is N26 46.10 W77 19.0
Don't know how to do that little degrees symbol so you can add that in.

Somebody please double check me.

I would go to Abaco, rent a boat and take my GPS so I can get an exact number for you. If you can wait until second week in January I'll do that! That means AbacoWilly is going to have to figure out where in the world that GPS ishttp://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon11.gif

If you need the points in between for the crossing since it's not a straight shot, well that's a little more work. Do you want to go on the Atlantic side or the Sea of Abaco side, etc.

The numbers I have are :

N26 41.742 W77 15.744 For the north end and
N26 41.130 W77 14.710 For the south end.

These were from over a year ago and be aware that the sand moves around in that area. Those should get you close though. Use your eyeballs and the tides too.

Ted, which charts/cartography are those that you posted? It has more detail than the one I have.

Hi James. It's Maptech. However you are absolutely correct that the best navigation yet invented is your eyes, with plenty of sunlight just aft of where your going. This year we are on "the hard" in N.J., but next year it's back to the Abacos and Exumas! Merry Christmas and happy New Year, Ted
