I spotted one on my way via golf cart to Carleton Point on Treasure in March. On the dirt road to the beach with nary a tourist in sight, there was a sign pointing to parking. In the middle of nowhere. What a hoot!

Rose, Peter & I spent a couple days at anchor at Allens-Pensacola Cay.

There is a path at leads over the ridge from the wonderfully secure anchoarge on the bank side of the cay to the ocean side. We saw the signs that passing cruisers have left for years.

There were signs there cruisers have left hanging from trees all over. We made our own, and added one for our friends from the ‘Ragged Point Yacht Club’ to sign.

How about the one on the road that runs to the Jib Room. I think it says "Snow evacuation route" or something like that. We will be there in a couple of weeks and will try to remember to get a picture of it.

One of my favorite signs is the banking hours on the 1st Caribbean bank in Hope Town. Only open on Tuesdays for 4 hours, now that's banker's hours! Sorry I don't have a photo, maybe someone else does, I see people taking pictures of it all the time.

Another fun sign to notice is the one that says "Mind Your Head". Easy to miss, but once you've seen it you will always remember it. (hint--It is on GTC)

OK, well here are a few different ones from us.

These may not land in order, but you'll figure it out

1) Should be the landing in our master bedroom, including an old Guana Sea Side sign

2) Bakers Bay, back before it was destroyed by the Evil Empire

3) Our 2nd place sign from the New England Parrott Head Convention this February

They may not all be in Abaco, but certainly are all connected

Took this in Hopetown when we were there in June.

I was also wondering who Cathy Swedenborg was. We saw the sign in on the side of a recessed rock wall (or what passes for rock in Bahamas), and thought it must have been a sad story at only 23. Then we hiked the beautiful trail across the island and had a wonderful time. But I couldn't help but think who was maintaining the trail, as I'm sure it's probably not well travelled. And then I was wondering if there was a living trust of some sort that might provide annual maintenance of the trail, maybe in Cathy's name??? Who owns Powells Cay, I would like to think the Government of Bahamas does, so as not to spoil that beautiful natural habitat. Anyone know?
