A Ham message has been heard. What we could understand is that every one in Little Harbour is okay. There is damage, but minimal when compared to Floyd.

Little Harbour is reporting 50 mph winds, however the worst is over. They estimate wind gusts to 130 mph earlier with sustained winds of 80-100 mph. There are three boats on the rocks. Other boats survived the storm. The water damage isn't as bad as Floyd but the wind damage is worse. Source advises water was waist deep in Pete's foundry. No injuries to anyone in Little Harbour. Source also reports his weather station was eventually blown down.

Cherokee to Casuarina Pt - I just received message from family of Judie and Rex Albury that they called their daughter in Fla. via satellite from Cherokee and are on their way home to Casuarina Pt....it was a voice mail, so exact time is unknown except it was late Saturday afternoon.

Just heard from my parents who live in Cherokee. They report electricity and phone service remain out. For some reason, my mom was able to call briefly on a cell phone. Through the static, I understood her to say there was a lot of heavy wind and rain during the storm. Some of the houses are on back-up generators.

Some houses along the bayside by the gas station sustained some minor flooding -- though not bad. Some houses sustained water damage from the incessant rain. Many houses lost shingles. Some uprooted trees. I also heard her say that a few houses were severely damaged. But then her connection was lost and I've been unable to get through again.

I know it's not much information...but at least it's something.

We heard from Hartis who had spoken to someone in Cherokee by Cell, that they had survived pretty well. Audley and Violet's house lost part of a roof, otherwise it was mainly shingles and rain water ingress. Long Dock? Dunno. Thank heaven they are all safe.

Has anyone ventured down to Bahama Palm Shores? Has there been any reporting on that area? Thanks, in advance, for any information that you might have.

We were in Casuarina during the storm, and everyone there , and in Cherokee is fine.
Four homes in Casuarina with MAJOR DAMAGE, most others lost shingles, lots of tree damage.
Cherokee had lots of tree damage, and shingles damaged on most homes. The long dock, and the other docks on the spit are gone. The "Sand Bar" made it thru OK.
The Long Shot and The LD were both tied up at Big Mangrove, and are fine.
Randy Sawyer's big boat is on the rocks, but he should be able to make repairs and re-float her. There was over three feet of water on Cherokee Road from the corner at the main road to around the turn to Little Harbour.
Cherokee got the power back at about 3:00 PM yesterday.
Bahama Palm Shores had lots of tree damage, shingle and roof damage, and beach erosion, most did not look like they had any major structural damage.
Sandy Pointe had lots of wind damage, and some major damage to a few homes, but again everyone is OK. The rain we got from Bahama Palm Shores to Marsh Harbour did not get down to Sandy Point.
The Crawfishermen took the worst hit, with hundred of thousands of dollars worth of traps gone. This will create hardships in the fishing villages for years.
