Stoped by Craig today and met with the chief pilot Bob. They recieved their DOT cert today. They will be starting service on the 11th out of JAX. I was told all sales will go thru the web site and they are waiting on their IT guy to get it up. Should appear within the next 24 hours. They showed me what it looks like and not too bad, make sure you have your passport info to complete the form.
I saw the aircraft and it is very good condition ie new paint and interior. I checked the stats on the beech 1900 and a very safe plane, a few pilots I know tell me one of the safest commuter aircraft ever built.
Ready for the new service!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Okay, I'm ready to book! Any idea of prices? Can I get an "Maiden Flight" discount? Seriously, who do I talk to? I'll even wing-walk to make room for others...

Has anyone actually flown them (Craig) yet?

Don't see where any 1900's are going (or have gone in the past week or so) back and forth between Marsh, Craig or St Augustine nor with customs stops in DAB.

Any first-hand experiences with Vintage and its new 50 seater??

The first flights are scheduled for next week. I flew on one of the 1900s in March. Great plane, comfy, AND it had a RR in the rear. I don't know if that is the one for the scheduled flts. CAC will not fly out of KRG, but JIA. Still, a 20 minute drive vs 90 min drive and a direct to MHH instead of 'puddle jumping' has its plusses, not to mention the savings in gas alone.

Just booked my first flight with CAC for the 18th. Can't wait to see how it all goes, it will be strange to not be flying on vintage.

So, there was quite a bit of fanfare about this airlines starting up but I haven't heard any trip reports. Is everyone who flew with them still enjoying the Abacos?

I felw down with CAC on friday 7/18 the flight went great we it is nice to fly out of jacksonville and not have to drive to Daytona, which I guess won't be an issue anymore anyway. I lookforward to flying with CAC in the future. The staff was freindly and helpful. We flew into the main terminal at Marash, but my parents flew down and sunday with CAC and they went into Cherokee. It was different having to deal with TSA but that is the price you pay for convience.

I didn't even know there was an airport in Cherokee. Why did they land there?

Not Cherokee Cay, Cherokee Air at Marsh, that is where the private planes go. It is much nicer.

Oh, sorry about that. I usually fly into Treasure Cay and wasn't aware of the separate terminal. So does Craig always use the Cherokee Air terminal instead of the regular one at Marsh?

I am guessing you are a frequent visitor, so how about a trip report? Where did you stay?

After being abandoned in the Bahamas by Vintage, we flew back to Daytona Beach on Craig Air on 7/20/08 and had an excellent flight and great service. Since our vehicle was in Daytona we were able to depart there after going through Customs. We will be flying back to Marsh tomorrow on Craig Air. Craig Air will be flying through Daytona Beach on Saturdays, Mondays and Thursdays. All flights will be leaving DAB at 9:30am and leaving Marsh Harbor at 1:00pm. The prices are comparable to Vintage, the plane holds 19 and is in excellent condition. We are very happy that they are now stopping in Daytona, they are planning on using Vintage's building as soon as they get through the red tape with DAB airport. Craig Air is out of Craig Air Field near Jax, they have been in business for 23 yrs.

I agree we flew down the 12th on my buddy's plane and used Craig Air back on the 18th, they were very nice and actually ahead of schedule. I live in NW Fla. so having them 5 hrs away but direct is a blessing.

We flew them down last Sunday and it was great. The people were nice and comming into the FBO was the best part. My daughter took them back Sunday and they now go straight to Jacksonville and she said customs was very nice and told them to have a good day. When was the last time that happened? I am from Jax so this is like an answer to a prayer.

Anyone know how much a taxi ride for 4 from Marsh to Green Turtle ferry dock would cost?

Last month, we asked the ferry captain how much it would be to take a taxi from Green Turtle Ferry dock to Marsh and he said $65. We needed round trip so we ended up renting a car for the day for $60. Hope this helps

The Sunday Floriday Time Union on the August 3rd had a wonderful article about CAC's new service to Marsh, it was a very flattering article and I wish them well. I am not sure I too happy about the Abacos being in the paper. I still like to think of it as our private paridise.

Hi folks I am a CAC pilot and one of the people who tried to start this thing.... It took 1 and a half years to be legal and I was ramp checked by the FAA two time to date. Sorry it caused a late departure but, were safe! I was the pilot taking people out for free except the dreeded $15 dollars dept fee a few weeks ago. Got chastized by the boss but he let it go after a talk. Sorry things work out this way and I hope to help all. Please let me know if I can help you out.

This year we want to make all times and flight ontime..
Please let us know of the need.
