We just got back for our Hopetown vacation, and it was everything I'd hoped. Spent a ton of money but the incredible memories are worth it!

Number One..the amazing ocean and beaches. We stayed in the North End and used the beach access every day to go swimming. Often we were the only ones there. There were plenty of fish to see right near shore and we snorkled for hours. We also went on a Froggies trip and liked it so much we went twice..full day north tour and 1/2 day; both to Fowl CAy preserve. My older son was thrilled to see a shark! My next goal is to learn to dive....someday.

Next...the town. We went there every day and my sons had a blast with the golf cart rides! It was absolutely beautiful with the colorful houses and the lush gardens and gorgeous flowers spilling over everywhere. Everyone was very friendly wherever you went. We went to all the restaurants , gift shops, and grocery stores. We got hooked on Vernon's bread but tried 3 times to get the key lime pie with no luck. We ate ice cream at Munchies and my 11 year old even got his hair braided. The "braid lady" also worked at Munchies; she was very nice and her son is a very friendly little boy.

Extra bonus...Scrubs. What a thrill to watch filming on one of our favorite shows. There were celebrities everywhere, and they kindly never refused a picture. ( I tried to post some, it says the file's too big. If anyone knows how to fix that I'll try again.) My sons asked if they could be extras and were called in for a scene. I sure hope it makes it into the show...it was so exciting!

It really was a dream vacation...I'm so glad we chose it instead of one of those big resort, all inclusives. Thanks to all of you; knowing so much before we went really made the most of our time there!

That is nice to know you had a great time. I hope you get your pictures to work so we can see them. I was told that they need to be resized the pixels???

I had a hard time with this last year! Some people gave me great directions on what to do and it worked great. I don't remember exactly what to do now. Do a search in forum for "posting pictures".

Sorry I can't be of more help! Can't wait to see them!

Resize your photo's to 640x480 megapixels. Search infranview software if you need to.

Abaco is such a special place because it is so quiet and different, and yet everyone feels the same about it. It is a fantastic place to go and do lots while doing "nothing'. My neighbors all say they need tv, nightclubs, jet-skis, parasailing, etc. They do not know what they are missing, and i am glad- too many people would muck it up. Glad your trip was fabulous. We all spend too much money when we go, but it is worth every dollar.

If you have Microsoft, the easiest way to resize pictures for me is to use Microsoft Picture Manger (MPM). When you open photos on your computer, they may automatically open in MPM, but if not, right click on the photo and look for "open with" on the menu. It should give you MPM as an option or maybe another picture manager. If you have MPM, you will see "edit pictures" on the top menu bar. Click on that and a menu will open on the right and you will see "resize pictures". What I usually do is play with the percent setting until I get the required dimensions that Gummy listed. For my photos, I usually have to reduce them by 20% to get down to the right size.

You do not want to permanently resize your pictures, so what I usually do is to create a folder for "resized pictures" and I do a "Save us" in that new folder.

Good luck and can't wait to see your photos.

Gail,
So glad you and your family had a great time in Hope Town. Your kids will have a life time of memories from that trip. Hope you can get your pics to us on this board.
So, have you started thinking about your 2nd trip to Abaco?

Cathy, I can't afford another trip, but I AM thinking about it anyway! I MUST see those beaches again!
I'm still trying to get those pictures posted, but I can't seem to get a resize option, or the picture manager. Everytime I get a few minutes I fool around with it trying to make it work...I haven't given up yet!
