Can anyone give some suggestions on the best snorkeling spots in Abaco and what we can expect to see at these sites?
Thanks in advance!

Mermaid Reef is usually pretty calm - water wise. Lots of fish, easy to find. Also try Sandy Cay - one of the best. Try the northern edge of this reef. The reef in front of the Hope Town Harbour Lodge is also good. It is only 15 yards off shore directly in front of the bar/pool, in shallow water. If you like deeper water, try Fowl Cay.

They have added two new mooring balls on the south end of Sandy Cay. It is shallow and you can usually get in even if there are swells on the front side. Had great time this June swimming with the turtles, rays , etc at Sandy. Lots of fish at Fowl. Froggy's takes trips almost daily and they have been feeding the fish so they are plentiful. Have fun.

Are there ever sharks at these locations? Also are any of them aggressive?

I don't think I have ever seen a shark at the parks although my boys have. I think I just don't want to see one. We do see barracuda, but they just watch you. Never had a problem with sharks. The only time we had one follow too closely was when our son was spear fishing (not in the park) elsewhere and the shark wanted the fish for his dinner. Not a problem ! He got it. You should be fine. Always just be careful and use your head.
