My wife and I and two other couples will be renting a house on the north end of Elbow in early August. In the past when I would go to the Abacos with my parents, there were a few times that they hired someone to come to the house one night to cook a nice native meal of fresh fish, peas and rice, and usually a good dessert of some sort. I am wondering if anyone else has looked into something like this and where we might find a person that does this. We wouldn't want anything fancy, just a night where we could stay at our place for dinner and none of us would need to worry about cooking.

If nobody comes up with a concrete suggestion is to ask the caretakers of the house when you get there...they would know.

Fly me there and I'll cook for you all week!!:D

Seriously, sounds like a great idea. I have heard of some of the high end houses offering a chef. I'm sure your caretaker can find what you need. You could also ask around at the local restaurants in Hopetown. One of the chefs/cooks there may be interested.

I would stop by Vernon's Grocery when I arrived and ask him. He knows everything!

There is a lady in Hope Town that works as a chef on charter boats and may be able to help you. Unfortunately, I don't recall her name. But if you call Abaco charters or Captain Jacks (ask for Althea at Captain Jacks, she works morning/afternoons) and they may be able to get you a contact number.

The lady's name is Renee and she is a wonderful cook. If she is not out on a charter she will come to your house and cook you a wonderful meal.
